A path-breaking venture conducted by one of New Silk Road Network's partners, Pasifik Eurasia has attracted the logistics industry's attention, and rightly so! This month the first-ever freight train from Turkey to China embarked on its journey carrying Turkish exports.
Pasifik Eurasia conducted the operations in collaboration with the TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş, a state-owned entity. The journey is about 8,693 kilometres long, as it follows the Trans Caspian East-West Middle Corridor via Baku-Tbilisi-Kars. The train is transporting 42 containers, mainly carrying coolers manufactured in Turkey. It departed from Istanbul on the 4th December and will arrive at its final destination in Xi'an, China in a span of merely 12 days.

The train's sendoff ceremony was attended by the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, who expressed how this step paved the way towards a new era for the country. This new route has opened tremendous opportunities not just for Turkish logistics, but also for manufacturing and export in the country. Turkey is a strategic location for European and Chinese players along the New Silk Road, and conveniently situated as a central hub between Europe and Asia. Pasifik Eurasia's focused efforts have contributed to Turkey arriving at the New Silk Road's centre stage and becoming a logistics powerhouse.
We would like to congratulate our newest partner on this ground-breaking achievement and wish them many more successes ahead!
