With 2021 rushing by already, we are already at the point of the year where we are eagerly looking forward to our next Annual General Meeting. Another opportunity for our community to come together, exchange business ideas, and facilitate our members and partners' growth. Before we engross ourselves in this year's preparations, a quick reflection is needed to remind ourselves and our community of the previous AGM. This reflective activity will help remind us of our experiences in Warsaw and what to expect from our AGM this year.

The AGM Gone By…
In 2020, New Silk Road Network hosted the 1st Annual General Meeting from 6th-8th of September in the historic city of Warsaw, Poland, the heart of the European rail freight industry. The event proceeded flawlessly in the quaint setting of Nobu Hotel, Warsaw, as our delegates indulged in 2 days of business meetings, networking, and knowledge exchanging. Despite the pandemic, NSRN hosted a one-of-a-kind hybrid event at a time when many logistics networks opted to host their annual conferences online or even postpone them. Unwilling to compromise and leave anyone out, we managed to connect not only the delegates who were attending in person but also those who could not make it due to travel restrictions.
After the successful conclusion of our 1st AGM, we received generous and heartwarming feedback from our members and partners. Even in the face of hurdles created by the Covid-19, the NSRN team provided better than the best quality to our members and developed a novel way of networking while embracing the new normal. A high benchmark has been set for us after the conclusion of last year's AGM, so how will we outperform ourselves?
Gearing up for the 2nd Annual General Meeting
We are taking our NSRN community to the great and grand metropolis of Dubai. One of the most business-friendly environments in the heart of the Middle East. A city that captures the modernity and the Arabian charm within its vicinity, as its cosmopolitan environment opens a plethora of options for individuals from various nationalities. As a bustling city for tourists and business personnel alike, Dubai offers a lovely balance between work and play.

Dubai is a global logistics hub, as its abundant SEZs and Free Zones offer global companies to set up their operations in the area. The ease of doing business is considered to be relatively high in the region and globally. Moreover, the city has emerged as a business station for those engaged in CIS countries. Many logistics enterprises operating in the CIS region choose Dubai as its hub due to its security and access to global resources. The city forms a significant transit hub for businesses operations in CIS regions. Apart from Central Asia, it also acts as a transit hub towards Africa. The range of possibilities offered by Dubai to strengthen your business in the region is undoubtedly boundless.
Though Dubai may not be at the centre of the New Silk Road, there is a growing awareness and interest in the Belt and Road Initiative, which is crucial for our growing network to tap into. Moreover, it has one of the fastest vaccines drive as 49.1%* of the population has been vaccinated. At NSRN, safety comes first. Keeping that in mind, Dubai emerges as the best option for this year's Annual General Meeting.

This year we extend our members and partners the opportunity to join us at the W Hotel, The Palm. This luxurious hotel situated on the iconic Palm Jumeriah, offers the most exquisite view of never-ending blue water and sandy white beaches. The hotel captures the city's opulence in an ultra-modern setting and caters to the most decadent of tastes. Its large meeting room allows us to follow social distancing norms as we conduct our networking sessions. The W Hotel offers a range of options when you need a break from business and need to take a quiet moment (maybe by the poolside). A trusted and exclusive brand, the W Hotel experience will be an exceptional opportunity for our community to gather and spend three wholesome days together from the 17th to the 20th of October 2021. Our team has begun the preparation, and the tickets are now online, so register as soon as possible!
And don't forget to pack some sunscreen and a pair of sunglasses, and we will see you all in sunny Dubai!
