New Silk Road Network’s (NSRN) founding member from the Middle East, MEPL International has recently become an authorised contract Logistics Service Provider (LSP) for Carrier, Australia. Carrier is a leading manufacturer of air conditioning and refrigerating devices for commercial and industrial use. Since 2016, MEPL has been handling Carrier’s products from their production facilities to their distribution points.

The relative success of the Hub-and-spoke system in the airline industry has impacted other transport sectors as well. In the past, the point-to-point system guided the transport industry, however, there were obvious flaws in this setup, causing logistics companies to lose money. As a response and an alternative, the hub-and-spoke system emerged.

After four months of dedicated work, New Silk Road Network (NSRN) member Atlantic Forwarding Group welcomed their first direct rail consol in Switzerland. The rail began at the consolidation hub in Xi’an in China and arrived at Basel, Switzerland via Duisburg, Germany. They delivered the cargo within the standard transit time frame. The goods were collected from different parts of China by Atlantic Forwarding Group. They were also responsible for stuffing and customs clearance, that was performed diligently, without any hurdles.
