New Silk Road Network’s founding member, Alexander Global Logistics, has consistently been amongst the top choices for many of the world's leading pulp and paper manufacturers as a logistics partner. As this growth trajectory continues, another significant milestone was achieved. Carsten Hellmers, CEO of Alexander Global Logistics and Saif Al Mazrouei, CEO of Ports Cluster - AD Ports Group, signed a 10-year Strategic Partnership Agreement to create a hub for pulp and paper products in the Middle East at the Khalifa Port.
On November 17th, with over 50 distinguished guests, including local authorities, pulp and paper producers, shipping lines and other industry experts, the official inauguration of the new pulp and paper warehouse at Port Khalifa, Abu Dhabi, UAE, took place.
The 30.000 square meter warehouse inaugurated has been built according to world-class standards and is the first of its kind in the area to be a carbon-neutral installation. Equipped with state-of-the-art safety and security features, it is less than 250 meters from the new Port Khalifa South Quay and has excellent connectivity to 2 container hubs which are also in the vicinity.
This hub will play a pivotal role in the pulp and paper industry, which has shown growing interest in leveraging the transhipment possibilities of the Middle East. The hub will act as a central facility in connecting them to fast-growing markets such as India, Pakistan and Turkey.
Amidst the applause from the attendees, a forklift loaded with a pulp unit rolled into the warehouse marking the ceremony's closing. The first lot of pulp is scheduled to arrive in the warehouse in early December.
We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to Alexander Global Logistics for this ceremonial moment!
