LLP Anil Mantra / SM Point, member of the New Silk Road Network representing Kazakhstan recently shared with us some highlights from a memorable opening ceremony of the new QazAlPack Plant. They were contracted two years ago, to handle the whole logistical supply chain of its construction, and now it is finally open to start production.
QazAlPack is the only enterprise in Centra Asia to produce sets of aluminium cans and caps for beverages, with a production capacity of up to 750 million sets per year. Located in Shymkent, it aims to organize the production of aluminium cans for the whole territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2020, when the project was launched, Anil Mantra / SM Point won the contract to handle the logistics for building the plant, including large production units, equipment and also the auxiliary items from the USA, Brazil, Europe and China.
Now only after two years, given the challenge imposed by the Corona Pandemic, the plant has been finished in record time. The challenges in this project were not the specifics of the product itself nor the characteristics of transportation, but actually the severe restraint on resources and line options, given that the deliveries took place during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Difficulties such as overbooked ships, delays of containers in transit ports, additional procedures such as quarantine measures, no direct vessels or airlines etc, left their marks on the entire supply chain… …but the team pulled through with flying colours.
On October 22, 2022, the grand opening of the plant took place, and having proven their worth, the Anil Mantra / SM Point team were among the invited guests and recipients of appreciation. We are extremely proud to have such members on board, and would like to extend our hearty congrats too!
