As the Mid-Autumn Festival in China rolled in, a train from Container Terminal JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven, New Silk Road Network’s partner from Germany, departed for Hefei in China. The train marked the first eastbound journey from Wilhelmshaven towards China. It commenced its journey on the 15th of September at 11:44 am local time, carrying 84 TEUs of skincare products, oatmeal drinks, pulp products and a mix of other goods. The cargo train will enter via Alanshankou.

Back in July 2021, the first direct train from Hefei arrived in Wilhelmshaven, and now two months later, the first return trip has successfully rolled out. The journey is part of the signed agreement between HILP and Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven JadeWeserPort-Marketing GmbH & Co. KG (JWPM). Further, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between JWPM, China Logistics and the Anhui Provincial Port & Shipping Group was established. These two agreements are the prerequisites for the rapid establishment of regular traffic between Hefei and JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven. These shipments have also furthered deeper cooperation between China and Germany within the trade and transport sector.
NSRN congratulates Container Terminal JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven for placing themselves officially as a Lower Saxony hub with both East and Westbound China-Rail services!
