MeerLand Ukraine LLC, a member of the New Silk Road Network representing Ukraine, successfully managed a high-stakes logistics operation by transporting critical military equipment to the IDEX-2025 Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The shipment, which began in late December 2024 and concluded by February 10, 2025, was a complex and time-sensitive task that required overcoming numerous obstacles.
The client, a Ukrainian military equipment manufacturer, urgently needed to deliver two armored personnel carriers and a prototype turret to the international exhibition. With tight deadlines and multiple regulatory hurdles—including securing an ATA Carnet, as well as export, transit, and import permits—the operation was a race against time.

One of the biggest challenges was obtaining a transit permit for transporting military cargo through Poland. This process typically takes a month, but due to the urgency of the shipment, it had to be expedited. Additionally, the oversized military equipment required a specialized carrier, and Warsaw Airport, not being a dedicated cargo hub, posed further logistical complications.
Despite these challenges, the MeerLand Ukraine team coordinated with QR Airlines, which agreed to transport the cargo on its cargo flights from Warsaw to Abu Dhabi via Doha, Qatar. However, just a week before the confirmed departure, the cargo terminal at Warsaw Airport refused to accept the shipment, citing its inability to properly scan the oversized equipment—a violation of flight safety regulations.

Undeterred, MeerLand Ukraine leveraged its extensive operational expertise to broker a solution between two terminals at Warsaw Chopin Airport and secured the necessary approvals. With assistance from a Dangerous Goods Management (DGM) surveyor from Doha Airport, who flew to Warsaw specifically to handle the cargo, the shipment was finally cleared for transport.
At this stage, the plan was to deliver two low-platform vehicles to the client for loading and export clearance. However, a crucial transit permit was still pending. MeerLand Ukraine received the permit just before the end of the workday on Friday, with haulers already waiting at the border. With the flight booked for Sunday, the team worked swiftly to clear customs and ensure the cargo’s timely departure.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of MeerLand Ukraine, the equipment was successfully delivered to the exhibition, demonstrating not only the company’s logistical expertise but also its ability to navigate high-pressure challenges with precision. Well done, team MeerLand Ukraine!
